Ah! to dream of autumnal gold and wanderlust! We've been truly blest with striking colors, even on overcast days like this one. I've passed by all these trees since arriving here in Connecticut from my home in Hawaii. Each day this Autumn season has brought subtle changes with initial hints of golds peeking through the green. Yet our days have shortened, and now we are blessed with this harvest of golden delights. Happy Monday to you! We're off to a good start!

Under brilliant blue, cloudless skies I journeyed to Burying Hill Road in Round Hill. Near where I grew up in Greenwich's backcountry, I drove and eventually walked up and down this ancient, meandering road. All I heard was the silence of gentle winds stirring red and gold autumn leaves on countless oaks and maples. It was the height of autumn foliage time here in Connecticut. How nice it felt to be home again.
