Autumnal Delights: Burying Hill Road in Round Hill, Greenwich, Connecticut USA

Under brilliant blue, cloudless skies I journeyed to Burying Hill Road in Round Hill. Near where I grew up in Greenwich's backcountry, I drove and eventually walked up and down this ancient, meandering road. All I heard was the silence of gentle winds stirring red and gold autumn leaves on countless oaks and maples. It was the height of autumn foliage time here in Connecticut. How nice it felt to be home again.

The people who run this store attract attention with its store window displays. They are famous for this. So after a recent commute to New York City via Metro-North I was walking up "the Avenue" I saw that Halloween was in full swing!

What a delight it was to walk around the First Church of Round Hill on Monday afternoon! 

I felt that its simple yet iconic New England Meeting House design coalesced well with the symphony of autumn colors around its clapboard exterior. 

Harmonious, comforting and inspirational, time stands still at this beloved church while the textures of the seasons continuously change.
